Welcome to the Tales of Gods.

Dive into Japan at the dawn of humanity, in a time when the sun was absent from its lands.

You will take on the role of Tsuku, a humble stranger who finds himself entangled in various conflicts and quests as he progresses through this unfamiliar world. You will strive to understand the sudden disappearance of its sun and fight to carve out a rightful place for yourself within its pantheon. You will encounter a multitude of characters whose interactions will enlighten you about the history of these places, and you will uncover the epic destiny of your protagonist.

The project is inspired by traditional Japanese Shintoism, specifically the animistic current: the belief in a spirit capable of bringing ancient places and objects to life, granting them their own personality and behavior. Shintoism is also enriched by a mythology filled with deities and creatures personifying the elements themselves: water, fire, earth, air, lightning, the sun and the moon. Thus, this offers a wide range of possibilities. 

The final game plans to include a set of 10 main levels, each fully themed, along with several side and alternate levels that offer various ways to approach the gameplay style. It will feature platforming and combat phases, as well as puzzles and riddles to solve. The introduction of alternative means of transportation across the different biomes of the game is also planned, along with several mini-games and a combat arena offering missions in the form of evolving assaults.

The guiding principle of the project is to create a varied 2D game that is both technically simple and straightforward in the setup of its settings and environments. The goal is to inspire the player to explore the proposed universe while making it challenging to access and rich with obstacles and questions. All in all, it is a game designed for everyone, evoking memories of the masterpieces of our childhood for those in the know.
